Eaton Socon 3, Biggleswade United XI 1

28th July 2015 :: Friendly Matches

Eaton passed their stiffest test so far with a fine 3-1 win over a very good United team. Eaton dominated the first 20 minutes pressing high against a team that like to pass the ball around building from the back.. But with Jono Santry, Richard Kays and Noel Morris closing them down at every chance it was not going to be long before Eaton forced the error and when it did Ben Coles was there to square the ball for Scott Kingsbury to tap home.. Eaton though dropped off the pace and their sloppiness cost them on 26 minutes when instead of doing the easy thing it became complicated and United equalised. The rest of the half saw United gain confidence but did not threaten the Eaton goal any further.

Eaton though picked up their game in second half with the introduction of Pearce and Banbury making a difference .. And on 64 minutes Eaton took the lead when a Kingsbury corner was turned into his own net by the United defender. However United stepped up again and played some good football but with no end product.. And on 77 minutes Gordine-Francis sprang the offside trap only to be brought down by the keeper. However Jono Santry placed the penalty wide and the score remained at 2-1. But this was soon remedied when on 85 minutes Luke Dawson scored the best goal of the game with a super strike from 25 yards. A great game and another good win.

Eaton now entertain Sawtry on Saturday 2.00pm kick off. With Ressies playing at 4.10pm against Sawtry Res
