Eaton Socon 0, Gamlingay United 2

18th August 2015 :: Cambs FA County League Kershaw Premier

Eaton paid the price for indecisiveness in the final third as Gamlingay produced a hard working performance to claim three points at River Road. In a closely fought game Eaton had lots if possession but could not create any clear cut chances of any note. Any chances Eaton had were half chances as the Gamlingay defence didn't give an inch. The Gamlingay centre half pairing of Bonham and Ashcroft-Walker were dominant throughout as Eaton struggled to break them down. Gamlingay took the lead on 19 minutes when Eaton allowed Churms to much space on the edge of the area and he hit an unstoppable shot past Wale. Eaton huffed and puffed but the final ball was either cut out or over hit. Gamlingay just soaked it all up and on 78 minutes a corner was headed in by Bonham unchallenged. Another midweek lesson for the Eagles but in fairness it was not a poor performance. They just weren't able to break Gamgy down.

Next up for Eaton another home game against Cottenham on Saturday 3.00pm kick off
