Eaton Socon 2, Brampton 1

10th October 2015 :: Cambs FA County League Kershaw Premier

Eaton Socon came away with the spoils after a hard fought derby win at River Road this afternoon. Brampton had come into the game with a couple of wins under their belt but they had trouble matching Eaton's passion and commitment in the first half as Eaton took a well deserved two goal lead. Eaton had made some changes and one fundamental change was the selection of Lewis Gordine-Francis whose performance at centre half was one of composure and his pace did not allow the Brampton strikers to get in their stride. However it was his fellow centre half who put Eaton ahead when a precise corner from Kingsbury found Josh Spavins whose bullet header found the net for his first goal for Eaton. This kicked Eaton on and further chances fell to both Wilks and Kingsbury but their efforts were well saved.

But on 35 minutes Eaton doubled their lead when great work from Morris found Kingsbury who lifted the ball over the on coming keeper. Eaton though came out in the second half and found a Brampton side who picked up their levels and when they reduced the lead on 73 minutes Eaton knew it would be a tough last 20 minutes. However Eaton held firm and picked up a big three points.
