Foxton 0, Eaton Socon 3

7th November 2015 :: Cambs FA County League Kershaw Premier

The first team travelled to Foxton for what on paper was a very tough game, but in the end Eaton ran out comfortable winners to claim all three points and move up to sixth place in the Cambs Premier. The first half was an end to end affair with both sides having chances to score, and in fairness it could have been 4-4 at the break. First real chance fell to Turner of Foxton who raced clear of the Eaton defence only for Wale to make an excellent save. Eaton then had their first clear cut chance when Wilks burst through, only for Ponting in the Foxton goal to save well. Wilks then had another chance and again his effort was well saved. Milky Wale then showed why he is the best keeper in this area when he made a world class save when diving the wrong way, and somehow managed to get himself back the other way to save at the near post.

The games was goalless at half time and Eaton were now kicking with the wind at their backs and though they were becoming frustrated they finally broke through when a great team goal started by Morris saw the ball fall to Kingsbury, whose pin point pass found Wilks who scored with the ball going in off the post. Eaton now started to dominate and it was not long before Ryan Baxter doubled the score when he beat the Foxton right back and scored at a tight angle. And on 78 minutes the game was done when Baxter broke behind the Foxton defence and his shot was turned into the Foxton net for 3-0. Eaton were never really troubled second half and travelled back with three deserved points.
