Eaton Socon 3, Sharnbrook FC 1

3rd August 2016 :: Friendly Matches

Eaton put in a workman like performance tonight against Beds Premier opposition and came away with a comfortable 3-1 win. With Bassett, Fox and Wilks restored to the frontline Eaton made chance after chance in the first half. But were denied by the Sharnbrook keeper or the woodwork. It took until the 57th minute for the deadlock to be broken when Fox scored from close range after a goalmouth scramble. Richard Kay then brought a bit of magic to the proceedings when he played a one two with Bassett. Waltzed past three men and beat the keeper. Sharnbrook though pulled one back before Lee Bassett smashed the ball past the Sharnbrook keeper to complete a good victory. Eaton now entertain Cranfield Utd on Saturday in their last friendly before the season kicks off on Tuesday.
