Eaton Socon 3, Over Sports 0

20th August 2016 :: Cambs FA County League Kershaw Premier

Eaton made it three from three with a good 3-0 win over a youthful Over Sports team. After Tuesday's lacklustre performance against Hemingfords Utd, Eaton were looking for a positive performance and three further points. Eaton though came flying out of the blocks and should of scored on 1 minute when  Bassett broke through but he lifted his effort over the bar. Minutes later Wilks found himself in a similar position and again he shot at the keeper. Whittingham and Wilks both had headed chances but put them wide, but finally on 25 minutes great work from Bassett found Shane Fox who smashed home from close range. Eaton continued to press and on 41 minutes Luke Dawson scored his first goal for Eaton when a shot from fully 30 yards went in off the post to double Eaton's advantage.

Half time probably came at the wrong time for Eaton as the second half performance did not mirror the first. However they did stretch their lead to three when a great ball from Whittingham found Rhys Williams who headed home from close range. The game then became a bit stale but Eaton had done enough and took the three points.

Tuesday will see local rivals Brampton visit the Mick George Stadium in what will be a big local derby and a chance to get revenge for last seasons defeats in league and cup. Kick off 6.15pm.
