Eaton Socon 4 Outwell Swifts 0

Eaton maintained their six point lead at the top of the Cambs Kershaw Premier with a 4-0 win over a hard working Outwell team. After the excitement of last week today was all about getting the job done and getting three more points. Both sides started brightly and created chances at either end.. Outwell had the first chance but the striker lobbed the ball over the out rushing Wale .. and the bar. Eaton also had chances with Wilks putting the ball over from close range.. and Morris hit a rasping shot that just went wide.. but on 16 minutes a great foraging run by Flack saw a cross to the far post Wilks played the ball back and Bassett slammed home from six yards. And it was not long before the lead was doubled when a corner from the left caused chaos in the Swifts penalty area.. Fox has two attempts at scoring but his efforts were blocked, but he finally squeezed the ball over the line for his 7th goal of the season.. 2-0 at half time and to be fair Eaton were comfortable.. but had to stay aware of the Swifts lively attack.. on 57 minutes Andrew Clare replaced Dawson and within two minutes he advanced his way into the Swifts area before curling an unstoppable shot past Jimson in the Swifts goal.. Eaton were now dominating and after a poor pass from a Swifts defender Wilks intercepted and made it 4-0 much to the delight of his watching fan club .. that's the way it finished .. 17 unbeaten .. 8 straight wins .. and yet to draw a blank in any game this season .. The Ressies won 3-0 at St Ives (see separate report) and A team lost 0-3 .. another good week for the Eagles
