Outwell Swifts 0, Eaton Socon 4

10th December 2016 :: Cambs FA County League Kershaw Premier

Outwell 0 Eaton Socon 4

With Christmas fast approaching it was probably fitting that a Shepherd had a big say in Eaton's fine 4-0 away win.. Alex Shepherd making his league debut for the Eagles bagged two headers in a first half when Eaton scored four goals to basically put the game to bed at half time .. Lee Bassett scored his 27th goal of the season on 17 minutes and when Shane Fox bagged a header in 43 minutes it was three points in the bag..  the second half Eaton took their foot of the gas and failed to score again .. but a good three points that keeps Eaton in the title hunt at half way of the season ..
Sammy Argyle stated before the game that Eaton were already playing the league champions and he knew his boys would give Huntingdon a good test.....both teams started brightly with high tempo and it was end to end stuff .. Huntingdon grabbed the first of the game with a great worked goal.. Eaton weren't disheartened and grabbed a well deserved and well crafted goal from a impressive Gooch cross to find Baxter ....but Huntingdon once again pegged Eaton back with their quick football. In the second half Eaton started fast and were on top .. but Huntingdon found there feet again and keeper Simon White m.o.m kept them at bay with fine saves ....then perhaps against the run of play Huntingdon scored with an impressive Jamie Blackwell header. The boys didn't give up and Gooch grabbed a goal back and Eaton smelled blood and started to pressure on the Huntingdon goal .. however they got hit on break with a lucky goal but full credit to Huntingdon they are a great side which Eaton matched .. and Argyle stated that if Eaton play like that every week not many teams will beat them..
The A team win 4-1 away at top of the league Melbourne ..
