Over Sports 0 Eaton Socon 4

A understrength Eaton side saw off a youthful Over Sports 4-0 at The Dole this afternoon. And the afternoon will no doubt be remembered for a 10 minute first half hat trick of penalties from Neil Morris.. The game started pretty evenly with both sides trying to play football in difficult conditions.. Over had the first real chance when their forward got in behind the Eaton defence but shot straight at Dexter in the Eaton goal. Eaton looked lively with the new forward partnership of Parratt and Bassett working well, and on 19 minutes Parratt controlled the ball well and lifted it over the Over defender, but the defender stuck his arm out and the referee awarded a penalty.. up stepped the head banded wonder Morris and he coolly slotted the ball off the post and into the net. Minutes later great work from Wilks saw him fouled in the box and a second penalty was given.. Morris stepped up and despatched the ball into the corner.. and low and behold when Leader fouled Byatt on 29 minutes Morris stepped up to complete his unusual hat trick.. 3-0 at the break and to be fair to Over they battled hard in the second half.. Eaton though broke them down in the 85th minute when Wilks prodded home from close range to make it 4-0 and give Eaton three valuable points.. on to next Saturday when Eaton travel to Fulbourn in the semi final of the League Cup.. a special mention to Jake a Dexter and Joe Keech who were quality today.. but the 'glue' gets MOM...
