Eaton Socon 0, Chatteris Town 0

1st April 2017 :: Cambs FA County League Kershaw Premier

Eaton drew a blank scoring wise for the first time this season when they played out an 0-0 draw with fellow top five side Chatteris Town at the MGS.

Both sides created very little in the first half and chances were at a premium. Craig Gillies went closest for Chatteris when his header was saved well by Wale, and Eaton's best chance fell to Bassett but he shot straight at the keeper.

The second half was a little brighter with both sides throwing more bodies into attack. Eaton though had the better of the last 15 minutes and should have buried the game when Fox and Bassett had great chances but the Chatteris keeper was once again equal. However the best chance came in the last seconds when great work from Fox saw the ball squared to Bassett whose shot was charged down, the rebound fell to Parratt but his shot probably landed on the A1... Another point but the good news that Lakenheath lost at Bramptonmeans that Eaton are still battling hard for third place..
The Ressies will feel that they threw away two vital points when Kirk Kidd put through his own goal in the dying minutes of their game at Hemingfords Utd Ressies. After Adam Westbury had given them the lead Eaton dominated and should really have put the game out of sight, but paid the price in the end.. but the Ressies move on to Wednesday night and the Hunts Junior Cup Final in the knowledge that they have only lost one game in eleven.. The Hunts Junior Cup Final is against Ramsey Town being played at St Neots Town this coming Wednesday 7.45pm kick off...
