Gamlingay United 2 Eaton Socon 1

A much changed Eaton side fell short against Gamlingay United at The Eco Hub.. with Wednesdays final looming Eaton rested five first team regulars and this showed in the early exchanges with Churms riding a number of challenges before looping the ball over the bar. Eaton did finally settle into the game and Griffiths and Parratt gave the Gamgy back four a hard time with their movement. However Gamgy opened the scoring when a long throw travelled to Eaton's far post and The ball was prodded home to give Gamgy the lead. Eaton battled back and equalised when Dean Parratt hit a rasping shot from the right which Cowell had no chance of saving. The game was a cagey affair and once Parratt was subbed Eaton's threat was curbed.. On 76 minutes a high ball to the Eaton's left flank and when Churms won the header the ball fell to Worboys whose cracking shot flew past Dexter.. Eaton had plenty of the ball in the last few minutes but failed to create a real chance.. Gamlingay looked dangerous on the break and probably should of extended the lead.. three lost points and we move on to Wednesday..
