Eaton Socon res. 5, Over Sports Res 1

16th September 2017 :: Creake Charity Shield

Eaton Ressie's went through to the second round of the Creake Charity Shield with a good 5-1 win against Over Sport Reserves. This was the Ressie's first taste of cup football since their cup final triumph last March and it was impressive. Sammy's boys were quality from the off, and were creating chances but they were still slightly lacking in the finishing department but Connor Heaps broke the deadlock. One soon two with a well deserved finish from Sammy Ward. Eaton's conceded a freak goal that reduced the lead but Eaton settled back down with M.o.M Kirk Kidd scoring from a corner with a header to see the score at half time 3-1.

Eaton could easily have scored many more but for Over's keeper who made some great saves. The second half was pretty average, but Eaton's quality showed through and début for Dom Smith resulted in two neat finishes and further chances from Heaps, Ben Argyle and Baxter could of made it more but Sammy and Alan happy with the general quality of football and well done to the Eagles.
