Eaton Socon 1, West Wratting 0

10th November 2018 :: Cambs FA County League Kershaw Premier

A very professional and disciplined performance saw ESFC overcome an inform West Wratting at River Road on Saturday. The visitors started strongly and had decent spells of possession without really threatening the home goal. Although the newly formed centre half partnership of Kain Baxter and Ash Howard were more than capable of handling the WW strike force although on the couple of occasions they did threaten, Eaton keeper Shay Griffiths saved confidently. Half time 0-0.

The second half started with Eaton growing in confidence. Lewis Davis, Dom Mason and Tom Baxter started to win the midfield battle and a good period of possession ended with a Excellently taken goal for Tom Baxter in the 70th minute. Last years league winners pushed hard for the equaliser but the Eaton midfield and defence worked tirelessly to match the onslaught. Eaton could have gone further ahead when Callan Irvine was denied by the Wratting keeper closing him down as he went through on goal.

The final whistle signified a very well earns 3 points and a very disciplined performance to boot. Foxton are next up on Saturday at the MGS as we look to reverse the defeat suffered over there in August.
