Premiair 1, Eaton Socon res. 3

17th November 2018 :: Hunts Junior Cup

Eaton Ressies continued their good form and progressed to the semi final of the cup by beating free scoring Peterborough side Premiair.

A good start to the game saw them take the lead through a Billy Mobbs Penalty. Kyle Morris was played through on goal and after beating the last defender and goalkeeper was upended inside the box. Up stepped Mobbs to send the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. As the half went on the home side had chances to equalise but were kept out by the outstanding White in the Eaton goal. When he was finally beaten the post came to the rescue as the home side pushed for an equaliser. Eaton continued to look dangerous going forward and Kyle Morris was once again involved, picking out Moore at the back post whose header across goal was finished at close range by Fox. A 2-0 half time lead.

The second half saw more of the same, both sides looking dangerous but it was Premiair who got themselves back in the game after some hesitant defending from Eaton. 1-2 and game on. Barry Albone’s introduction on the hour mark saw Eaton gain more control in midfield with the impressive Ross West starting to dictate play. Both sides had chances but it was Eaton who sealed the victory with a fantastically worked team goal. Winning the ball back in their own half and playing quick one touch football through the home side found Moore in a dangerous position. With options either side, Moore found the overlapping Kyle Martin and timed the pass to perfection allowing Martin to fire home his first goal of the season. Eaton played out the remainder of the game comfortably to progress to the semi final.

A good result for Eaton who travel to Houghton next week for another tough game in the league.
