Eaton Socon A 3, Alconbury 1

1st December 2018 :: Hunts Lower Junior Cup

Eaton Socon fielded a very strong side which showed straight from the kick off with the boys piling on the pressure and attacking the Alconbury goal and this paid off when Josh Kane superbly turned the Alconbury centre midfielder to send a 25 yard strike into the bottom corner.

Eaton did have one scare in the first half when a rare Alconbury attack managed to get through but was saved superbly by Harness in the Eaton goal. Eaton continued to work hard in the midfield and managed to get themselves two up when a dangerous corner was played into the Alconbury box the ball fell to Eaton Skipper Harper who made no mistake from 6 yards rifling the ball into the back of the net.

Half time 2-0

The second half started much the same as the first with Eaton pressing hard and winning first and second balls all over the pitch and this paid off when a ball was played into the Alconbury box and Brett Davis slotted home comfortably for 3-0. Eaton did have a scare as Alconbury pulled one back but the game was managed expertly by the senior heads in the team and they held out final score 3-1
