Eaton Socon 2, Bar Hill SSC 1

16th February 2019 :: Cambs FA County League Kershaw Premier

A Dom Mason brace both from 25 yards in the second half were enough to secure three very important league points at the MGS today. Eaton started strongly and dominated the early exchanges without making their possession count. They were punished in the 35th minute when a Barr Hill free kick was met at the far post to put the visitors ahead completely against the run of play. Eaton started the second half well and again didn’t look like conceding with the defence superbly marshalled by Darren Woodend playing alongside Ryan Vale in his first appearance since having a new tattoo.

With an hour on the clock up stepped Captain Mason with a 25 yard strike that took a slight deflection before sailing over the stranded visitors keeper. Eaton knew the game was there for the taking and another Mason run yielded Eaton’s second when he struck again from 25 yards this time with no deflection into the roof of the net. It was nothing more than the home side deserved and sets up a run of away games now which Eaton will look to finish the season strongly with.
