Suffolk Punch Haverhill 2, Eaton Socon A 4

2nd February 2019 :: Cambs FA County League MPG 3A

With numerous games across the leagues called off Eaton Socon would like to thank Suffolk Punch for managing to keep this fixture alive.

Eaton travelled with a very strong side despising noticeable absentees however the managed to replace those missing players with the inclusion of Kyle Morris and Allan Moore.

Eaton were in good spirits in the warm up and started brightly moving the ball around with precision and accuracy but unfortunately went behind when a ball was poked in past harness. However Eaton bounced back in superb fashion and broke from a Beadle clearance to Morris who bounded down the right hand side and sent a rasping shot into the bottom corner from 25 yards. Eaton continued to press the lunch back line and this payed off when a ball played in from the right found Chamberlain Who shook off the lunch defender and sent the ball firing into the net. Half Time 2-1

The second half began and Eaton Socon had to soak up a lot of pressure from the Punch Army and they found an opening down the right hand side through a well placed Garwood ball down the wing to find Morris who took the ball round the right back and calmly slotted into the near corner to make it 3-1.  Eaton Socon were not finished there because the ever present Kokokta places a well timed ball into the path of chamberlain who rounded the keeper and slotted home his second and Eaton’s fourth. Eaton continued to keep moving the ball around and created more chances but as they pressed higher it left them a little exposed at the back and a long ball from the Punch defence found their striker who nonchalantly finished over the head of Harness.
