Fordham 0, Eaton Socon res. 1

23rd March 2019 :: Cambs FA County League MPG 1B

Eaton Ressies travelled to league leaders Fordham on Saturday and came away with a vital victory in a game they completely dominated.

The first half saw Eaton dominate from start to finish, the only thing missing from the performance was a goal. Some great opportunities were being created but Eaton couldn’t find the finishing touch and Fordham kept Eaton at bay by somehow clearing off the line on 3 occasions.

More of the same in the second half and still no way through for Eaton until another good move saw Moore played through on goal which ended up in the forward being brought down inside the area. Penalty to Eaton, and up stepped Dom Mason to fire home from the spot. A thoroughly deserved lead and one which Eaton held onto comfortably until the last minute when they suffered a scare. A Fordham free kick kick from 25 yards was struck sweetly but crashed against the bar. A brilliant 1-0 victory for Eaton who’s great form continued in their search for promotion as they inflicted Fordham’s first home defeat of the season.

Every one of the Eaton side played their part today in an impressive display.
